Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or over
- People who are enrolled in or covered by a social security scheme
- People who have received full information about how the trial works and have signed a consent form

- For patients: People who have focal epilepsy that does not respond to medication, where the source of the epilepsy is in the front part of the temporal lobe (on either side of the brain), and who are being considered for surgery to remove that part of the brain
- For healthy volunteers: People who have no known condition affecting the front part of the temporal lobe, including epilepsy
Who may not be able to join:
- People for whom an MRI scan is not safe, including those with claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces)
- People with vision problems that have not been corrected
- People who are not able to give their own consent to take part
- People who do not have a sufficient understanding of the French language or are unable to follow instructions
- People who are not able to consent independently as an adult, those who are under 18, or women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
