Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People who can read and speak French well
- People who have given written agreement to take part in the trial
- People who have had focal temporal lobe epilepsy (a type of epilepsy affecting one area of the brain) for at least one year, which has not been controlled by medications, and is caused by scarring in a part of the brain called the hippocampus
- People who are currently going through a pre-surgical assessment (tests to see if brain surgery may be an option)
- People who are part of the French social security system

- People who are under legal protection or guardianship
- People who have claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces) or any other reason they cannot safely have an MRI scan
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who are currently taking part in another research study that has a required waiting period before joining a new study
- People who do not agree to be informed if something unexpected is found during their MRI scan
