Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older at the time of signing the consent form
- You have been diagnosed through a tissue biopsy with a specific type of stomach or stomach-esophagus junction cancer (adenocarcinoma) that has not spread to other parts of the body, is able to be removed by surgery, and is classified as Stage IB to III
- Your cancer surgery is planned to take place at Centre Léon Bérard hospital
- A stored tissue sample from your original diagnosis is available, and that sample contains at least 20% cancer cells
- You are well enough to carry out some or all of your normal daily activities (as assessed by a standard medical scale called ECOG, scoring 0, 1, or 2)
- You are able to understand, sign, and date a consent form before the study begins, and are willing to attend study visits and follow the study procedures
- You are covered by health/medical insurance
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a medical condition that makes it unsafe for you to have blood samples taken as required by the study
- You have another cancer that is currently growing or needs active treatment (though some skin cancers that have been successfully treated, or early-stage cervical cancer, may be exceptions — confirm with trial site)
- There are personal, psychological, family, location-related, or social circumstances that, in the doctor's opinion, may prevent you from giving proper consent or following the study procedures
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
