Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have epilepsy that has not responded to treatment (sometimes called drug-resistant epilepsy)
- People who are having 7 or more seizures per week
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are unable or unwilling to give informed consent to participate
- People who have recently been using ketone supplements, following a ketogenic (very high-fat, low-carb) diet, or making other significant changes to their diet

- People who are unable to eat or drink by mouth, for example due to severe acid reflux

- People who have a chromosomal disorder (a condition caused by changes in the chromosomes)
- People whose epilepsy may be treatable with surgery
- People who have allergies or any other medical reason to avoid ketone supplements
- People whose seizures cannot be reliably recorded or tracked
- People who are not consistently taking their prescribed anti-seizure medications or who are unlikely to attend follow-up appointments regularly
- People who have recently received a medication called propofol
