Who might be able to join this trial:

• The parent or caregiver taking part must be at least 18 years old
• The parent has been diagnosed with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) or unexplained stomach pain in the last five years, OR they regularly experience stomach pain at least once a week that is linked to changes in their bathroom habits (such as how often they go or the consistency of their stools) at least 30% of the time
• The parent is the main person responsible for looking after the child day to day
• The child is between 4 and 7 years old at the time of joining the study (if there is more than one child in the family, the parent chooses one child to take part)
• The child lives with the participating parent for at least half of the time
• Both the parent and child must live in the United States

Who may not be able to join:

• Anyone who cannot read, speak, or understand English
• Children who have a developmental disability that requires full-time special education
• Children who have had ongoing stomach pain most days or every day for more than 3 months
• Children who have already been diagnosed by a doctor with a painful gut condition, such as constipation, lactose intolerance, fructose intolerance, gluten intolerance, celiac disease, or inflammatory bowel disease (confirm with trial site if unsure whether your child's condition applies)
• Children who have another serious long-term illness — such as juvenile arthritis or cancer — that requires ongoing medical treatment
• Families who do not have regular access to the internet on a phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer
