- The trial is open to infants between 4 and 9 months old who are being seen at participating Maternal and Child Protection Services for their required 4-month or 9-month vaccinations
- At least one parent must have access to a personal telephone
- Parents must be willing to provide consent for their child to take part and agree to active follow-up of the child until 36 months of age
- The child must be covered by a social security system or by state medical assistance
- Either a parent or a close relative who speaks French must be present, or the parent must have a basic understanding of French, as determined by the principal investigator

- Infants who have a serious neurological condition, such as encephalopathy (a brain disorder), would not be eligible
- Families who do not wish to take part in the study would not be eligible
