Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 20 and 40 years old
- You have tested positive for hepatitis B (specifically for two markers called HBsAg and HBeAg)
- Your hepatitis B virus levels in the blood are above a certain high level (200,000 IU/mL) between weeks 24 and 32 of your pregnancy
- You are willing to take a medication called TAF to help prevent passing hepatitis B to your baby

Who may not be able to join:
- You also have hepatitis C, HIV, or another long-term illness
- You have had a previous miscarriage or a baby born with birth defects
- You have severe liver disease (such as advanced cirrhosis or liver cancer)
- You have a history of kidney problems, reduced kidney function, or protein found in your urine above a certain level
- A scan during pregnancy has found that your baby has a physical abnormality
- Your liver enzyme levels (ALT) are more than twice the normal upper limit (confirm with trial site)
- Your bilirubin levels (a measure of liver function) are at or above the normal upper limit (confirm with trial site)
- Your albumin (a protein in your blood) is below a certain low level (confirm with trial site)
