Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 20 and 80 years old
- People whose stomach cancer is located in the upper third of the stomach
- People who have been confirmed through a stomach scope procedure (before surgery) to have a specific type of stomach cancer called adenocarcinoma

- People whose heart and lung function is strong enough to handle robot-assisted surgery
- People who have signed the trial's consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had previous surgery in the upper abdomen that makes robot-assisted surgery unsuitable
- People whose tumour has grown into the food pipe (oesophagus) more than 3 centimetres above where the stomach and oesophagus meet
- People who currently have another cancer, or who have been treated for another cancer within the past 5 years
- People whose surgical team determines that joining the stomach and oesophagus during surgery would be under too much tension, requiring a different surgical approach
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have a serious mental illness
- People who have been taking steroid or immune-suppressing medications continuously in the month before joining the trial
