Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are between 18 and 40 years of age
- People who speak English
- People who have Medicare or equivalent health insurance from a partner country
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently pregnant
- People who smoke and are not willing to avoid smoking on the day of the experiment
- People who are unable or unwilling to sign a written consent form
- People who have difficulty standing on their own for 5 minutes during a tilt-table test (a test where a person lies on a table that is slowly tilted upright)
- People found to have a significant buildup in the walls of the main arteries in the neck, detected during an ultrasound scan as part of the study visit
- People whose vagus nerve (a major nerve in the neck) cannot be seen clearly on an ultrasound scan
- People whose existing nerve stimulation electrodes are not in a suitable position for the study procedure
- People excluded for any other medical reason as determined by the research team (confirm with trial site)
