Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are able to understand and freely agree to sign a consent form to participate in the study
- You are between 18 and 75 years old (inclusive) at the time of signing the consent form
- Your cancer has been confirmed by a lab test (from a tissue or cell sample) to be a HER2-positive stomach cancer or cancer at the junction of the stomach and food pipe, and it has spread locally but not beyond a certain point
- You are generally able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation (confirm with trial site for exact definition)
- Your heart is pumping blood effectively, with a pumping strength of at least 50% as measured by a heart scan
- Your liver is functioning within acceptable levels, based on blood tests taken within 7 days before starting the treatment (confirm with trial site for exact values)
- Your kidneys are functioning within acceptable levels, based on blood tests taken within 7 days before starting the treatment (confirm with trial site for exact values)
- Your blood counts and clotting levels are within acceptable ranges, based on tests taken within 7 days before starting the treatment (confirm with trial site for exact values)
- You are expected to live for more than 3 months
- You are willing and able to attend all required visits and follow all study procedures as set out in the study plan
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had, or currently have, another active cancer within the past 5 years
- You are planning to have, or have already had, an organ or bone marrow transplant
- You had a heart attack or poorly controlled irregular heartbeat within the 6 months before starting the trial
- You have a serious heart condition (grade III–IV) or your heart pumping strength is below 50%
- You are living with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus)
- You currently have active tuberculosis (TB)
- You have a history of, or currently have, a lung condition such as interstitial lung disease, dust-related lung disease, radiation damage to the lungs, drug-related lung inflammation, or severely reduced lung function
- You have previously been treated with certain types of immunotherapy drugs, including PD-1, PD-L1, or CTLA-4 treatments
- You have any other serious health condition that the trial doctor believes would make it unsafe or unsuitable for you to take part
