Who might be able to join this trial:

For all participants:

  • Hearing must be within the normal range (as measured by a standard hearing test)
  • Vision must be correctable to 20/20 (for example, with glasses or contact lenses)
  • Must not have been born prematurely (before 36 weeks of pregnancy)

  • A formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, as described above

Additional criteria for the Typically Developing group:

  • No parents or siblings with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Fragile X Syndrome
  • No current neurological or psychiatric diagnoses
  • An IQ score above 75

Who may not be able to join:

  • People with hearing loss
  • People with vision loss that cannot be fully corrected
  • People who were born prematurely (before 36 weeks of pregnancy)
