Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are 18 years of age or older
• You have been diagnosed (through a tissue or cell sample) with advanced pancreatic cancer, bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma), lung cancer, stomach cancer, esophageal cancer, or breast cancer, and have at least one measurable area of cancer that can be tracked
• You have previously been treated with a type of chemotherapy called taxanes, and either your cancer did not respond or it came back after responding — or you received at least 2 cycles of taxanes without your tumour shrinking and you are not satisfied with your current results
• You are reasonably active and able to care for yourself (as measured by a standard medical scale called ECOG, score of 2 or lower)
• Your doctors expect you to live for at least 3 more months
• Your blood cell counts meet certain minimum levels (white blood cells, platelets, and haemoglobin are within acceptable ranges)
• Your liver and kidney function blood test results are within acceptable ranges
• Your heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys are working well enough overall
• You are willing and able to follow the trial schedule and attend follow-up visits
• You agree not to try to become pregnant or donate sperm during the trial and for 6 months after the last dose; women who could become pregnant must have a negative pregnancy test within 7 days before joining
• You have been fully informed about the trial and have signed a consent form agreeing to take part

Who may not be able to join:

• You have had an allergic reaction to the trial drug or any of its ingredients
• You currently have an active or unresolved infection, or another serious illness
• You have active hepatitis that is not controlled by antiviral treatment, or cancer has spread to more than three-quarters of your liver
• You have significant fluid build-up in your chest, around your heart, or abdomen that cannot be managed by draining or other methods
• You have a mental health condition, or difficulty cooperating or communicating about your treatment
• You have severe heart or lung disease or major organ failure that would make chemotherapy too risky
• You have a bleeding disorder
• You have had an organ transplant
• You have a serious drug addiction, long-term heavy alcohol use, or certain infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS
• You still have significant side effects (grade 2 or higher) from previous cancer treatment at the time of joining — with the exception of hair loss or mild nerve-related side effects from platinum-based chemotherapy
• The trial doctors feel, for any other reason, that you would not be able to complete the trial safely
