Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged 18 to 70 years old at the time of the first screening visit.
• People who are generally healthy or have only a mild health condition (as assessed by an anaesthesiology health rating scale).
• Women who could become pregnant must have a negative pregnancy test within 7 days of the screening visit, and must be willing to use highly effective contraception throughout the entire study.

• People who have at least one symptom consistent with Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), or a functional gastrointestinal disorder diagnosed using a recognised clinical framework called Rome IV criteria.

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have previously had surgery on the stomach or oesophagus (food pipe), including weight-loss surgeries such as lap banding or gastric bypass.
• People with a history of a bowel blockage or a blockage at the stomach's exit point.
• People with a history of diverticulitis (inflammation of small pouches in the bowel).
• People with a history of inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
• People who have had a stoma (an ileostomy or colostomy bag).
• People with a history of stomach or oesophageal cancer.
• People with a history of achalasia (a condition affecting swallowing) or a pouch in the oesophagus (oesophageal diverticulum).
• People who are currently experiencing difficulty swallowing or painful swallowing.
• People who are currently taking any medication for a gastrointestinal condition.
• People who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant within 30 days of the screening visit, or who are currently breastfeeding.
• People with an active substance use or dependency issue (including alcohol or drugs), an unstable mental health or medical condition, or any ongoing condition that the trial investigator believes could interfere with participation in the study.
