Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have a cancer that has come back or stopped responding to treatment, and your cancer has a specific change (alteration) in a protein called HER2
- Your cancer has continued to grow after your last treatment, or you were unable to tolerate your last treatment
- Your cancer can be measured on a scan using standard measurement guidelines
- You are generally able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (confirm with trial site for exact fitness level required)
- Your blood counts, liver, and kidneys are working well enough as shown by recent blood tests
- Your heart is pumping blood effectively, at 50% or above (confirmed by a heart scan)
- You are able to swallow tablets or capsules
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a serious heart condition
- You are currently infected with HIV, unless your HIV is very well controlled with treatment and blood tests show it is undetectable
- You currently have an active liver infection, such as hepatitis A, B, or C
- You have severe, ongoing nausea or vomiting, problems absorbing food, or have had a significant portion of your small bowel removed, which could stop you absorbing the medication properly
- You have diabetes that is not well controlled
- You have previously had a transplant of a solid organ (such as a kidney, liver, or heart)
- You have a history of a moderate or severe bleed in the brain, or any brain bleed within the last 28 days
- You have a history of a non-infectious lung condition called interstitial lung disease (ILD), unless it was mild and has completely cleared up
- You currently have a brain tumour that needs urgent treatment right away
