Who might be able to join this trial:
- The child has been diagnosed with one of the following specific epilepsy conditions: Early infantile developmental and epileptic encephalopathy, Epilepsy of infancy with migrating focal seizures, Infantile spasms syndrome, Severe myoclonic epilepsy of infancy, or Epilepsy with myoclonic-atonic seizures
- The child has epilepsy that has not responded to drug treatments, as defined by international epilepsy guidelines from 2010
- The child is between 0 and 23 months old at the time of joining the study
- The child's family agrees to take part in the research
- The child has no previous diagnosis of brain injury caused by lack of oxygen, inflammation, physical trauma, stroke, or bleeding in the brain
Who may not be able to join:
- Children whose families are unable to attend the required follow-up visit at 6 months may be removed from the study
