Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 80 years old
- People who have been confirmed by laboratory testing to have a specific type of stomach cancer called primary adenocarcinoma, at stage III
- People who have had a type of stomach surgery (gastrectomy) where all visible cancer was removed (called R0) along with an extensive removal of nearby lymph nodes (called D2 lymphadenectomy)
- People with a good general health and activity level, rated 0 or 1 on a standard medical scale, and expected to live more than 6 months
- People whose blood counts, liver function, kidney function, and heart tests all fall within acceptable ranges as defined by the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously received chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, or targeted therapy
- People who have more than one primary cancer diagnosis
- People who have serious heart, lung, kidney, or liver disease, or poorly controlled high blood pressure, diabetes, or mental health conditions
- People for whom the complete surgical removal of cancer (R0 resection with D2 lymph node dissection) was not possible
- People diagnosed with stage IV (advanced/spread) stomach cancer
