Who might be able to join this trial:
- Children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) based on recognised medical diagnostic guidelines (DSM-5 or ICD-10)
- Children who are either not currently taking any medication, or who have been on the same medication without changes for at least the past 2 months
- Families who are willing to give written consent, have the child take nutritional supplements throughout the 3-month study, avoid starting any special diets during the study, and complete questionnaires at two points during the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- Children who have taken antibiotic medicines (other than creams or ointments applied to the skin) in the 2 months before joining the trial
- Children who have taken probiotics or synbiotics (supplements containing beneficial bacteria or related products) in the 2 months before joining
- Children with a known intolerance or allergy to probiotics, synbiotics, or any other ingredient used in the study
- Children who have had bowel surgery involving removal of part of the intestine, or who have a condition called short bowel syndrome
- Children with a serious condition affecting the immune system
