Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with stomach cancer (specifically a type called gastric adenocarcinoma) confirmed by a tissue sample, at a stage that has not spread to distant parts of the body
- You are male or female, between 18 and 70 years old
- A camera test of your stomach (gastroscopy) and a CT scan have confirmed you have a specific aggressive type of stomach cancer (either a very large tumour over 8 cm, or a type called Borrmann type 4 — confirm with trial site)
- A keyhole surgical procedure has confirmed the cancer has not spread to the lining of the abdomen
- You are generally well enough to carry out light activity and care for yourself (confirm with trial site)
- Your blood counts, liver function, kidney function, and blood clotting are all within acceptable ranges based on blood tests
- You have not received any previous cancer treatments
- You have read and signed a consent form before starting the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had another type of cancer in the last five years
- You have previously had chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or immunotherapy
- You are unable to swallow and take medicines by mouth
- You have a known allergy to any of the medicines used in this trial
- You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or think you may be pregnant
