Who might be able to join this trial:

• Children who are between 6 years and 10 years 11 months old at the time of signing up for the study
• Children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), confirmed through their medical history and records, including assessments done by a psychologist
• Children with an IQ score of 75 or higher, based on their history and available medical records
• Families where the child and at least one parent show three or more examples of the family adjusting their routines or behaviours to accommodate the child's strong need for things to stay the same (based on screening questionnaires)
• Families where both the parent and child are English-speaking and are able to take part in study activities on a consistent basis

Who may not be able to join:

• Children who have significant difficulties with hearing, language, or physical movement
• Children whose behavioural or medication-based treatments for anxiety or rigid, sameness-seeking behaviours have not been stable for at least two months before the study starts, or where changes to those treatments are expected during the trial
• Parents or caregivers who have previously completed formal training in a programme called SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions)
• Children who are currently receiving psychological therapy or counselling specifically for anxiety or strong needs for sameness
• Children who have a notable history of refusing to attend school, harming themselves, or having thoughts of suicide
