Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 55 years of age or older
- You have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, confirmed by medical records, current diabetes treatment, a fasting blood sugar level of 126 mg/dL or higher, or an A1C test result of 6.5% or higher
Who may not be able to join:
- Your A1C (a measure of blood sugar control) is below 6.5% or above 9.0%
- Your body mass index (BMI) is above 40 (confirm with trial site)
- You have Type 1 Diabetes and rely on insulin
- You have had a heart attack or stroke in the past year
- You have active symptoms of heart disease or heart failure
- Your blood pressure is uncontrolled, with a top number above 150 or a bottom number above 110
- Your resting blood pressure top number is below 90 (abnormally low blood pressure)
- You use a mobility aid other than a standard cane (for example, a walker or wheelchair)
- You currently have an active cancer diagnosis
- You have reduced or impaired ability to feel temperature sensations in your legs
- You are unable to be fitted into the water-circulating garments used in the study
- You have a bone or joint condition that would prevent you from completing physical movement tests
- You are unable to have a DXA scan (a type of body composition scan), for example due to implants, medical devices, or difficulty lying still during the scan
