Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 75 years old (male or female)
- You have advanced or metastatic stomach cancer or cancer at the junction of the stomach and food pipe that has spread and cannot be removed by surgery, and you have not yet received any systemic treatment for it
- You have at least one tumour that can be measured on a scan, according to standard guidelines
- You are generally well enough to carry out light activity and care for yourself (but may not be able to do heavy physical work)
- Your doctor expects you to live for at least 3 more months
Who may not be able to join:
- You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant before, during, or within 6 months after finishing the study treatment
- You have active, uncontrolled bleeding or a known condition that causes problems with blood clotting or bleeding
- You have a history of, or currently have, seizures (fits), cancer that has spread to the brain or spine, pressure on the spinal cord, or cancer affecting the membranes around the brain or spinal cord
