- People aged 12 years or older
- People who live in Busia or Trans Nzoia County
- People who have been screened for possible epilepsy and had that diagnosis confirmed by an epilepsy-trained professional working with the BEACON project, or by a physician
- People who have a diagnosis of epilepsy but are not consistently taking their prescribed anti-seizure medication
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently receiving care from a brain or nerve specialist (neurosurgeon or neurologist) for a serious brain condition
- People who are unwilling or unable to give their voluntary agreement to take part — for those aged 12 to 18, a form of agreement called assent is also required
