Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are able to give written, signed, and dated consent before any study procedures begin
  • People aged between 45 and 75 years old

  • People with an active diabetic foot (an open wound or infection on the foot related to diabetes)
  • People with nerve damage (polyneuropathy) or eye damage (retinopathy) related to diabetes
  • People showing signs of active liver or kidney problems
  • People with a body mass index above 35
  • People currently using insulin injections
  • People who have used any diabetes medicine other than metformin or sulfonylurea in the 3 months before the study screening
  • People who use SGLT2 inhibitors (a type of diabetes medication)
  • People whose body weight has changed by more than 5 kg in the last 3 months
  • People currently following a weight loss diet or using weight loss medicines or supplements
  • People with high blood pressure that is not well controlled
  • People who are already doing a regular exercise program, or who have any other medical condition that could make it unsafe to take part in the study activities
