Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 70 years old, of Han ethnicity, and any gender may apply
- You have been diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B (CHB), meaning you have tested positive for the hepatitis B virus for more than 6 months and have ongoing liver inflammation caused by the virus
- You have been receiving PEG-IFN-α (a type of hepatitis B treatment given as an injection under the skin) continuously for at least 24 weeks
- You are willing to sign a consent form before the study begins
Who may not be able to join:
- You also have an infection with hepatitis C, hepatitis D, HIV, or syphilis
- You have a history of heavy alcohol use, advanced liver scarring (decompensated cirrhosis), liver cancer, a liver protein marker called AFP above 100 ng/ml, or an autoimmune disease
- You become pregnant during the course of the PEG-IFN-α treatment
