Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
- Your Body Mass Index (BMI) — a measure of body weight relative to height — is 23 or above
- Your weight has been stable (not changing by more than 5%) for at least 3 months before joining
- Your HbA1c (a blood test that shows your average blood sugar over the past few months) is between 7.5% and 11.0%
- Your fasting blood sugar level (measured after not eating) is at or below 15.0 mmol/L
Who may not be able to join:
- You have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes or another specific type of diabetes other than type 2
- You have had a cancer diagnosis in the past 5 years, or have a suspected cancer (with some exceptions for certain skin, cervical, prostate, or thyroid cancers that were fully treated with no return — confirm with trial site)
- You have ever had chronic or acute pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
- You have a history of serious allergies — such as being allergic to 3 or more foods or medicines, or having conditions like asthma, hives, or eczema — or you are allergic to a type of diabetes medication called GLP-1 receptor agonists
- You have a condition that affects your mental capacity or ability to communicate
- You have a known or suspected history of alcohol or drug misuse
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- The trial doctor feels there is any other reason that makes it unsuitable for you to take part (confirm with trial site)
