Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 18 to 75 years old, of any gender
  • People who have been confirmed by biopsy or tissue testing to have locally advanced stomach or gastroesophageal junction cancer (where the food pipe meets the stomach) that cannot be surgically removed or has spread to other parts of the body
  • People whose cancer tests positive for a protein called HER2 (confirmed by specific laboratory tests)
  • People who have at least one area of cancer that can be measured on a scan, according to standard measurement guidelines

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have a known allergy or serious allergic history to any of the drugs used in this trial or their ingredients, or for whom these drugs are otherwise medically unsuitable
  • People with heart or blood vessel problems, or stroke-related conditions, that are not well controlled
  • People who have received certain traditional Chinese medicines or immune-boosting drugs (such as thymosin, interferon, or interleukin) as a general body-wide treatment within 2 weeks before starting the trial (local use for fluid in the abdomen may be acceptable — confirm with trial site)
  • People with a history of certain lung conditions, such as interstitial lung disease, lung scarring, or acute lung disease, or who have poorly controlled ongoing health conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure
  • People with a history of immune system problems, including HIV, other immune deficiency conditions, or autoimmune diseases, or who have had an organ transplant
  • People with a serious ongoing infection requiring antibiotics, antifungal, or antiviral medication, or who have a history of active tuberculosis within the past year (unless a completed course of appropriate treatment can be confirmed)
  • People whose cancer has spread to the brain or the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord
  • People who have had significant fluid build-up around the lungs, heart, or in the abdomen that has required repeated draining within 2 weeks before starting the trial
  • People who currently have, or have had in the past 5 years, another type of cancer — except for certain fully treated skin cancers or early-stage cervical cancer
  • People who had a major surgical procedure within 28 days before starting the trial
  • People who have previously had a stem cell transplant from a donor or an organ transplant
