Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
- You are not currently using insulin to manage your diabetes
- You are between 30 and 75 years old
- You are not physically active on a regular basis
Who may not be able to join:
- You cannot have an MRI scan for any reason (confirm with trial site)
- You have a psychological or mental health disorder
- You are currently using insulin injections or other insulin treatments
- You have a history of coma, mini-stroke, head injury, brain tumour, stroke, epilepsy, or other brain or nervous system conditions that could cause or have caused dementia
- You have a serious heart or lung condition, such as significant heart valve problems, serious irregular heartbeat, a heart attack or heart procedure within the last year, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or problems with blood vessels in the brain or legs
- You have severely high blood pressure (above 160/110 mmHg)
- You currently have cancer, or have severe nerve damage that would make exercise difficult
- You have significant kidney disease (confirm with trial site)
- You are unable to attend and take part in regular exercise sessions throughout the trial
- You are currently pregnant
- You are currently breastfeeding
