Who might be able to join this trial:
- People diagnosed with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D), as well as healthy volunteers who meet the study's diagnostic criteria
- People aged between 18 and 70 years old
- People who have not taken antibiotics, steroids or other hormones, herbal preparations (including tablets or injections), or probiotic products such as yogurt in the week before joining
- People who are willing to sign a consent form, receive appropriate treatment (for patients), and provide blood, urine, stool, or other samples (for volunteers)
Who may not be able to join:
- People with serious diseases affecting the heart, liver, kidneys, blood, nervous system, or mental health
- People with other digestive system conditions such as peptic ulcers, tumours found on a recent colonoscopy, or other illnesses that affect how the digestive system moves (such as an overactive thyroid or diabetes)
- People who need to keep taking medications that may affect gut function, such as anti-diarrhoea drugs, antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, gut bacteria regulators, or antibiotics
- People with a known history of drug allergies or severe food allergies related to the study treatments
- People under 18 or over 75 years of age, or women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have experienced a major distressing life event during the treatment period
- People who are currently undergoing any form of psychotherapy
- People who are unwilling to cooperate with the study requirements

Fecal metagenomic detection of bacteria associated with Trp metabolism; Serum detection by Elisa; Serum Trp metabolism was measured by metabolomics; Th17/Treg ratio in peripheral blood was measured by flow cytometry; Colon tissue was detected by immunofluorescence and histochemistry analysis
