Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have Type 2 diabetes that is being managed with diet and exercise, and who are also taking metformin and/or a basal insulin (long-acting insulin), with that medication dose unchanged for at least 8 weeks before the screening visit.
  • People who weigh at least 50 kilograms and whose Body Mass Index (BMI) is above the 85th percentile for their age and sex (confirm with trial site for how this is calculated).

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have Type 1 diabetes.
  • People who have used any blood sugar-lowering medication other than metformin, basal insulin, or dulaglutide in the 8 weeks before screening.
  • People who have had a serious diabetes-related complication called diabetic ketoacidosis or hyperosmolar syndrome at any point after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
  • People who have had one or more episodes of severe low blood sugar, or one or more episodes where low blood sugar occurred without any warning signs, in the past 6 months.
  • People who have a personal or family history of a specific type of thyroid cancer (medullary thyroid carcinoma) or a condition called multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2.
  • People who have a history of ongoing, recurring, or unexplained pancreas inflammation (pancreatitis), or who have a known gallbladder condition.
  • People who have used any prescription or over-the-counter weight loss medications in the 8 weeks before screening.
