Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 21 to 75 years old (inclusive)
- People who are generally in good health, as determined by the trial doctor
- People who have a confirmed diagnosis of type 1 or type 2 diabetes, supported by medical records
- People who manage their diabetes with intensive insulin therapy — either 3 or more injections per day, or an insulin pump
- People whose HbA1c (a blood sugar average reading) was below 9.0% in the last 3 months

- People who are willing to stay in hospital for up to 5 days as part of the study
- People who are willing to do up to 7 fingerstick blood sugar checks per day using study-provided equipment

- People who are willing to carry a study-provided Android phone at all times during the study
- People who have access to the internet for periodic uploads of study device data
- People with a BMI between 18 and 35 kg/m²
- People who are able to understand and follow study procedures and give informed consent, and who are proficient in English or have access to a Portuguese-to-English translator
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently taking Acetaminophen (paracetamol) and are unable to switch to a different pain reliever
- People who are currently taking blood-thinning (anticoagulant) medication
- People with a history of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), Pulmonary Embolism (PE), or a blood clotting disorder that the trial doctor believes could affect safety
- People currently using certain non-insulin diabetes medications, specifically SGLT2 inhibitors or Insulin Secretagogues
- Women of childbearing potential who test positive on a pregnancy screening test
- Women of childbearing potential who are planning to become pregnant, or who are not using a reliable form of contraception as judged by the trial doctor
- People who have had one or more episodes of severe low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia) or diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) in the last 6 months that required medical care or help from another person
- People whose red blood cell level (haematocrit) is below the normal reference range
- People with known heart or cardiovascular disease that the trial doctor considers clinically significant
- People currently being treated with systemic (oral or intravenous) corticosteroids, or who have used them within the last 8 weeks
- People taking thyroid hormones whose dose has not been stable for at least the past 3 months
- People with a significant history of alcoholism or drug abuse that, in the trial doctor's opinion, could affect safety or study results
- People with a significant acute or chronic illness that, in the trial doctor's opinion, could interfere with safety or the reliability of study results
- People who are currently participating in another clinical drug or device study
- People who are part of the research staff conducting this study
