Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who fully understand the study and are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- People aged between 18 and 75 years
- People who have been diagnosed through a tissue sample (biopsy) with stomach or gastroesophageal junction cancer that can be surgically removed, or may become removable with treatment
- People whose cancer showed a partial but incomplete response to pre-surgery treatment (classified as Tumour Regression Grade 2 or 3 — confirm with trial site)
- People who had surgery after pre-surgery chemotherapy where all visible cancer was successfully removed (no cancer left at the edges)
- People who are generally well enough to carry out light activity or desk work, based on a standard fitness scale (ECOG score of 0 or 1 — confirm with trial site)
- People with a life expectancy of at least 2 years
- People who have not received any prior cancer treatment
- People who are willing and able to attend follow-up appointments as required
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are unable to follow the study's procedures or requirements
- People who have previously had surgery for stomach cancer
- People who have medical reasons preventing them from having surgery or chemotherapy, or whose general health or organ function makes major abdominal surgery unsafe
- People whose cancer has spread to distant organs other than the liver (such as the lungs, brain, or bones)
- People whose cancer tests positive for the HER2 protein
- People with high blood pressure that is not controlled even with medication at the time of enrolment
- People with diabetes that is not well controlled even with medication at the time of enrolment
- People whose urine test shows a significant level of protein in the urine (confirmed by a 24-hour urine collection showing more than 1.0g of protein)
- People who have active bleeding, a hole in the stomach wall, or a blockage in the digestive tract that needs treatment
- People considered unsuitable for the study by the treating doctor, for any reason
