Who might be able to join this trial:
This trial has three separate groups (cohorts). Each group has different requirements.
Cohort 1 (Surgery followed by chemotherapy)
- People aged 18 to 80 years old who are generally well enough to carry out normal daily activities (ECOG score of 0 or 1)
- People diagnosed with a specific type of stomach cancer (adenocarcinoma) at stage II or III, confirmed by tissue testing
- People who have had surgery to completely remove the cancer (called R0 resection) along with removal of nearby lymph nodes (D2 lymphadenectomy)
- People who are receiving chemotherapy after surgery
Cohort 2 (Chemotherapy before surgery)
- People aged 18 to 80 years old who are generally well enough to carry out normal daily activities (ECOG score of 0 or 1)
- People diagnosed with stomach adenocarcinoma at stage III or IV, confirmed by tissue testing
- People who have had stomach surgery (gastrectomy)
- People who are receiving chemotherapy before surgery
Cohort 3 (Advanced cancer, no surgery)
- People aged 18 to 80 years old who are generally well enough to carry out normal daily activities (ECOG score of 0 or 1)
- People diagnosed with stomach adenocarcinoma at stage IV, confirmed by tissue testing
- People for whom stomach surgery is not possible
- People who have at least one area of cancer that can be measured on scans, following standard measurement guidelines (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
Cohort 1
- People who have previously had chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, or targeted therapy for cancer
- People who have more than one type of primary cancer
- People who have serious heart, lung, kidney, or liver disease, or poorly controlled high blood pressure, diabetes, or mental health conditions
- People for whom complete cancer removal surgery or full lymph node removal was not possible
- People with stage IV stomach cancer
Cohort 2 and Cohort 3
- People who are unable to receive chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, or targeted therapy
- People who have more than one type of primary cancer
- People who have serious heart, lung, kidney, or liver disease, or poorly controlled high blood pressure, diabetes, or mental health conditions
- People for whom stomach surgery is not possible (Cohort 2 only)
