Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 65 years old
- You are any gender
- You have been diagnosed with chronic Hepatitis B (a long-term liver infection caused by the Hepatitis B virus), based on 2019 medical guidelines
- Your Hepatitis B was treated with interferon, and that treatment caused the surface protein of the virus (HBsAg) to disappear, another viral marker (HBeAg) to become undetectable, and the virus levels in your blood to drop below what tests can measure — and you have since stopped interferon treatment
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- You also have another hepatitis virus infection, such as Hepatitis C (HCV) or Hepatitis D (HDV)
- You have a liver disease caused by your immune system attacking your own body (autoimmune liver disease)
- You have HIV infection
- You have a long history of heavy alcohol use and/or have taken medications or substances known to damage the liver
- You have a mental illness
- You have signs of liver tumors (liver cancer), or a specific blood marker called AFP is above a certain level (confirm with trial site)
- Your liver disease has reached an advanced stage where the liver can no longer function properly (decompensated cirrhosis)
- You have serious health conditions affecting your heart, brain, lungs, kidneys, or other major organs that would prevent you from attending regular long-term follow-up appointments
