Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes for at least one year
  • You have been using insulin for at least 6 months
  • You are currently using a FreeStyle Libre® 2 glucose sensor and plan to continue using it (for one group in the study), OR you are currently using a FreeStyle Libre® 2 glucose sensor and would like to switch to a Dexcom® G7 glucose sensor (for the other group in the study)
  • Your most recent HbA1c blood sugar level was 7.5% or higher (a measure of average blood sugar over roughly 3 months)
  • You know when you started using your current glucose sensor (the month and year)
  • You have been using your current glucose sensor exclusively for at least 3 months
  • Your glucose sensor has recorded data at least 70% of the time over a 14-day period within the last 6 months
  • You have at least one recorded "time in range" glucose reading from within the last 6 months (confirm with trial site)
  • You have at least one recorded HbA1c result from within the last 6 months
  • You agree to allow your data to be used for the study

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have used a real-time continuous glucose monitor (a different type of glucose sensor) in the past 12 months
  • Your diabetes medications or doses have been changed, or are expected to change, within the last 30 days
  • Your insulin dose has been or is expected to be adjusted by 20% or more within the last 30 days
  • You are pregnant at the time of enrolling in the study, or you plan to become pregnant during the study
  • You have been using your glucose sensor for less than 3 months
  • You use an insulin pump (a device worn on the body that delivers insulin continuously through a small tube under the skin)
