Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are male
- You have been diagnosed with severe haemophilia A or B
- You are currently taking approved preventive (prophylaxis) medication for haemophilia, such as clotting factor treatments or bypassing agents
- You are 12 years old or older
- An ultrasound scan done as part of your routine care has shown early, mild joint lining swelling (called subclinical synovial proliferation) in at least one joint — ankle, knee, and/or elbow — even if you have no obvious symptoms
- You are able to read and sign a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had a major bleed in the last 3 months, or a minor bleed in the last month, in the joint being studied
- You only take haemophilia medication when a bleed happens (called "on demand" therapy), rather than taking it regularly to prevent bleeds (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently on any type of regular preventive haemophilia medication (confirm with trial site, as this appears to conflict with the inclusion criteria above)
- The joint being looked at has an artificial replacement (prosthesis) or has been surgically fused — though you may still join the study using your other joints
- You have been diagnosed with an inflammatory joint disease such as rheumatoid arthritis or psoriatic arthritis
- You have a history of developing inhibitors (antibodies that stop haemophilia treatment from working properly) above a certain level, either at any point in the past or within the last year (confirm with trial site for exact levels)
- You cannot safely take anti-inflammatory pain medicines called NSAIDs — for example, due to an allergy to them, or because you have severe liver problems, significant kidney problems, heart failure, or problems with blood circulation in your legs or brain

Primary endpoints
- The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of physical examination and ultrasound to identify active synovial proliferation in haemophilia patients with subclinical synovial hypertrophy.
