  • People whose kidneys are not functioning well enough, based on a measurement called eGFR being below 30 ml/(min·1.73 m²) (confirm with trial site)
  • People who have a history of drug abuse or dependence on alcohol within the past 5 years
  • People who have had difficulty following treatment plans, or who have an inconsistent diet and exercise routine
  • People with a history of pancreatitis (inflamed pancreas), pancreatic tumours, a specific type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid carcinoma, or advanced diabetic eye disease (stage IV or higher)
  • People who have used steroid medications that affect the whole body (systemic glucocorticoids) within the past 3 months
  • People who have had an infection or significant physical stress within the past four weeks
  • People with other serious health conditions — such as severe heart or lung disease, hormonal disorders, neurological conditions, cancer, other pancreatic diseases, or mental illness — as assessed by the trial medical team
