- People with hepatitis C (HCV) who have a detectable level of the hepatitis C virus in their blood at their most recent test
- People with hepatitis B (HBV) who have had a detectable level of the hepatitis B virus in their blood at any point, and who have either never been tested for hepatitis D (HDV) or have tested positive for hepatitis D
Who may not be able to join:
- People who do not have a valid German social insurance number
- People for whom no contact details are available
- People in the hepatitis C group who have already achieved a sustained virological response (meaning the virus was no longer detectable after completing treatment)
- People in the hepatitis B group who have already had their hepatitis D (HDV) status formally assessed
