Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and are 19 years of age or older at the time of joining.
  • You have been taking metformin combined with either a DPP-4i or SGLT-2i diabetes medication (both taken by mouth) continuously for at least 8 weeks before joining.
  • Your HbA1c (a blood test measuring average blood sugar levels over time) is between 7.0% and below 10.0%, based on a test taken within 4 weeks of joining.
  • You are willing to give written consent to take part after being fully informed about the study.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have type 1 diabetes or a form of diabetes caused by another medical condition.
  • You have been taking three or more different diabetes medications (taken by mouth) at the same time within the 8 weeks before joining.
  • You need to use insulin, GLP-1 medications, or similar treatments during the study period.
  • You have severe kidney disease or are currently on kidney dialysis (hemodialysis).
  • You have or have had a serious diabetes complication called diabetic ketoacidosis.
  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You have a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the study medications or their ingredients.
  • Any other medical reason that the study doctor believes makes participation unsuitable for you (confirm with trial site).
  • You have any other condition that the study medication's official guidelines say it should not be used for (confirm with trial site).
