Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and are 19 years of age or older
• You have been taking a stable dose of metformin and a DPP-4 inhibitor (a type of diabetes medication) for at least the past 8 weeks
• Your HbA1c (a measure of blood sugar control over the past few months) is between 7.0% and just below 10% at the time of screening
• Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 18.5 and 40 at the time of screening
• You have been fully informed about the study and have agreed to participate by signing a consent form

Who may not be able to join:

• You have type 1 diabetes
• Your BMI is above 40
• You have moderate to severe kidney disease, or your kidney filtering rate (eGFR) is below 45 mL/min/1.73m² (confirm with trial site)
• You have end-stage kidney disease or are currently on dialysis
• You have heart failure that is not well controlled and significantly limits your daily activities
• You have had an uncontrolled irregular heartbeat, heart attack, unstable chest pain, heart bypass surgery, or a stroke within the past 24 weeks
• You have or have had a condition where dangerous levels of acid build up in your body, including lactic acidosis or diabetic ketoacidosis
• You are currently in or recently experienced a diabetic coma or pre-coma state
• You have had a severe low blood sugar episode while taking metformin and a DPP-4 inhibitor
• You have blood in your urine
• You are currently being treated for a thyroid condition
• You are malnourished, severely underweight, or in a generally weakened physical state
• You have a condition where your pituitary gland or adrenal glands do not work properly
• You have significant liver disease, shown by certain liver enzyme levels being more than 3 times higher than normal
• You have a serious active infection, are in the period around a surgery, or have a significant injury
• You have a history of substance abuse
• You have taken insulin or certain other diabetes medications (including sulfonylureas, thiazolidinediones, SGLT2 inhibitors, or GLP-1 receptor agonists) within the past 8 weeks
• You have taken steroid medications (corticosteroids) for more than 2 weeks in a row within the past 8 weeks, or need to take them repeatedly
• You have been diagnosed with cancer within the last 5 years
• You have taken part in another clinical trial involving an experimental drug or device within the past 12 weeks
• You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
• You have had an allergic reaction to metformin, DPP-4 inhibitors, dapagliflozin, or related types of diabetes medications, or any of their ingredients
• You have a rare inherited condition affecting how your body processes certain sugars, such as galactose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption (confirm with trial site)
• The trial doctor considers you unsuitable for the study for any other reason
