Who might be able to join this trial:
- Babies considered lower risk: born at or after 37 weeks of pregnancy and weighing 2,500 grams (about 5.5 pounds) or more at birth
- Babies considered higher risk: those who have a brother or sister already diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), those born with a birth weight below the 3rd percentile for their size (very small for their gestational age), or those born between 26 and 31 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy
- Babies who scored above 7 on a standard health check (called the Apgar score) at 5 minutes after birth, which measures how well a newborn is doing
Who may not be able to join:
- Babies born before 26 weeks of pregnancy
- Babies who have significant brain injuries acquired around the time of birth, serious heart or organ conditions, a known genetic condition linked to ASD, or any other medical condition that affects brain development or would prevent participation in the study

Primary endpoints
Stability and accuracy of the predictive value of each risk index identified at birth, 3-6-12 mo through the correlation with the diagnostic outcome and ASD/NDDs-related traits at 18, 24 and 36 mo.; Building of a new predictive model and evaluation of its accuracy in terms of positive predictive value of ASD/NDD risk.
