Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People of any background, male or female, aged 18 or older at the time they started cenobamate
  • People diagnosed with epilepsy who have focal-onset seizures that were not controlled by 2 to 5 previous anti-seizure medications, and who then started treatment with cenobamate
  • People who had at least 1 seizure per month in the 6 months before starting cenobamate
  • People whose medical records include at least 6 months of health information before they started cenobamate
  • People whose medical records include at least 12 months of health information after starting cenobamate, with no gap longer than 6 months between records
  • People who have agreed to allow their personal data to be used in line with data protection regulations

Who may not be able to join:

  • People for whom any approved anti-seizure medication used alongside cenobamate is medically contraindicated according to official prescribing guidelines
  • People who began taking cenobamate through an Early Access Programme (a scheme allowing access to medicines before full approval)
  • People with a progressive neurological disease, such as a degenerative brain or nervous system condition, or a brain tumour that is growing
  • People with specific epilepsy syndromes such as Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS) or Dravet Syndrome
  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • People who are assessed as not being able to make independent decisions about their own participation
  • People with current or recent substance or alcohol misuse or dependence (excluding caffeine and nicotine)
  • People who have taken part in another clinical or interventional study in the 6 months before starting cenobamate
