Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- (For people with epilepsy only) You have been diagnosed with epilepsy and have had an abnormal EEG (a brain wave test) recorded between seizures
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a medical reason why you cannot have a PET scan, MRI scan, or EEG brain wave test
- You have a history of a serious brain condition, such as a stroke or a significant head injury
- You have previously had brain surgery
- You have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes
- Your fasting blood sugar level is above 200 mg/dL (a blood glucose measurement taken after not eating)
- You work directly under the supervision of the lead researcher running this trial
- (For healthy volunteers only) You are currently taking any medications or substances that affect how the brain works
- (For healthy volunteers only) You currently have, or have previously had, any major physical health, neurological (brain or nerve), or mental health condition
