Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are willing and able to give their voluntary written agreement to participate in the trial
- People aged between 18 and 75 years old (inclusive)
- People of any sex
- People who have been diagnosed with a type of stomach cancer called gastric adenocarcinoma, confirmed through a tissue sample taken during a stomach camera procedure (endoscopy), following a specific Japanese medical guideline for stomach cancer
- People whose treating doctor has decided they need immune-based treatment (immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy) before surgery to remove the stomach cancer, followed by that surgery
Who may not be able to join:
- Women who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People with serious mental illness
- People who have previously had surgery on the upper abdomen, with the exception of keyhole surgery to remove the gallbladder
- People with stomach cancer who do not wish to receive immune-based treatment before surgery
- People who have been taking steroid medications continuously throughout the past month
- People who currently have an active infection, an active or hard-to-treat immune system condition, or a serious ongoing illness affecting the whole body
- People who the trial investigators determine are otherwise not suitable to participate, for any reason (confirm with trial site)
