  • People whose leukemia involves certain specific genetic abnormalities known as t(8;21), t(15;17), or inv(16)/t(16;16) cannot join
  • People who have had a serious allergic reaction to the study drugs or very similar medications in the past
  • People who currently have an active infection that is not under control
  • People who are currently experiencing active bleeding
  • People who have had a blood clot, embolism, or bleeding in the brain within the past year
  • Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or who are able to become pregnant but are unwilling to use contraception during the trial
  • People with a history of drug addiction or heavy ongoing alcohol use that could affect the trial results
  • People with a mental health condition or other situation that would prevent them from giving consent or following the trial requirements
  • Anyone that the trial doctor feels would not be suitable for the trial for any other reason
