Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are willing and able to give written consent and to attend the required visits and follow the trial procedures
- People who were between 18 and 75 years old at the time of signing the consent form, of any gender
- People who have been confirmed by tissue testing to have a type of stomach or gastroesophageal junction cancer (where the stomach meets the oesophagus) that cannot be removed by surgery and has either spread locally or to other parts of the body
- People who have not previously received any systemic (whole-body) treatment for this cancer
- People whose cancer has been confirmed by tissue testing to have a protein called CLDN18.2 present on the cancer cells
- People with a general health and activity level rated as fully active or restricted in physically strenuous activity but able to carry out light work (confirm with trial site for exact rating details)
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cancer tests positive for a protein called HER2, based on specific laboratory testing results
- People who are currently taking part in another interventional clinical trial (though people who are only in the survival follow-up phase of a previous trial may still be eligible — confirm with trial site)
- People who have previously been treated with a type of medication known as a topoisomerase inhibitor-based antibody-drug conjugate
