Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with a specific type of stomach or gastroesophageal junction (the area where the food pipe meets the stomach) cancer, confirmed by a tissue sample — specifically adenocarcinoma, mucinous adenocarcinoma, or signet ring cell carcinoma.
- Your cancer is at a stage where it has grown into surrounding tissues but has not spread to distant parts of the body, and doctors believe it can be fully removed with surgery.
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You are in good general health and able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation (confirm with trial site).
- You have not received any treatment before surgery, and you and your family prefer to have surgery as the first treatment.

- You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial.
Who may not be able to join:
- Your tissue sample shows more than 10% of a different cancer cell type, such as squamous cell carcinoma or neuroendocrine carcinoma.
- You have a blockage in your digestive system that cannot be controlled, or you have repeated episodes of bleeding in your digestive tract.
- You are unable to swallow tablets or oral medicines.
- You currently have an active infection that requires treatment with medicines given throughout your body (such as intravenous antibiotics).
- You have moderate to severe scarring of the liver (cirrhosis) from any cause.
- You have a significant heart condition affecting how well your heart functions (confirm with trial site).
- You have a history of heart attack, unstable chest pain (angina), stroke, or an uncontrolled irregular heartbeat.
- It is expected that you would not be able to tolerate chemotherapy treatment after surgery.
- You have another medical condition that means chemotherapy would not be safe for you.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of psychiatric illness, or are unlikely to be able to follow the trial requirements reliably.
