Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults between 18 and 70 years old
- People who are currently in hospital and have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (either newly found during their hospital stay, or diagnosed before but never previously treated with insulin)
- People who have started insulin treatment during their hospital stay and are expected to continue using insulin after going home
- People who are able to carry out basic daily activities (such as washing, dressing, and eating) on their own
- People who have the mental and physical ability to use the required devices: an insulin pen, a blood sugar monitor, a continuous glucose sensor worn on the body, and a special smart cap called Insulclock® that fits on the insulin pen
Who may not be able to join:
- People who need help from others to carry out basic daily activities
- People who have a medical condition or physical limitation that would prevent them from using the continuous glucose sensor or the Insulclock® system
- People who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
- People who have type 1 diabetes (a different form of diabetes from type 2)
- People who are currently receiving dialysis (a treatment that does the work of the kidneys)
