Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with stomach cancer, cancer at the junction of the stomach and food pipe (GEJ), or cancer of the food pipe (esophageal adenocarcinoma), where the cancer can be surgically removed
- People whose cancer tests positive for a protein called CLDN18.2 and negative for HER2 (for one part of the study), or positive for HER2 (for another part of the study); a third part of the study has no specific requirements for these markers
- People whose overall health and ability to carry out daily activities is rated as fully active or restricted in physically strenuous activity only (this is measured using a standard medical scale called ECOG, scored 0 or 1)
- People whose organs (such as kidneys and liver) and bone marrow are functioning well enough to meet the trial's requirements
- People who weigh more than 35 kg
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have already received any cancer treatment or surgery for their current stomach, GEJ, or esophageal cancer
- People with an active or previously documented autoimmune or inflammatory condition that has required treatment with steroids or other immune-suppressing medicines
- People with any conditions or disease affecting the brain or central nervous system
- People with infections that are not currently under control
- People who have a history of, currently have, or are suspected of having a lung condition called interstitial lung disease (ILD) or pneumonitis (inflammation of the lungs)
- People who have previously had another type of primary cancer
- People with any known or suspected spread of cancer to distant parts of the body (metastasis)
- People with uncontrolled Hepatitis B, or chronic or active Hepatitis B infection
- People who have taken immune-suppressing medications within the 14 days before the first dose of the trial treatment
