As a Healthy Volunteer:

  • You are over 18 years old
  • You are willing to participate and able to sign a consent form

As a Gastric Cancer Patient:

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You are generally well enough to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (confirm with trial site)
  • Your stomach cancer has been confirmed through a tissue test as a specific type called adenocarcinoma
  • You have no family history of inherited cancer conditions
  • You have not received any cancer treatment before
  • A tissue sample from your tumor (from surgery or biopsy) is available and meets the study's requirements
  • A blood sample is available and meets the study's requirements
  • You are willing and able to sign a consent form to take part

Who may not be able to join:

As a Healthy Volunteer:

  • You or a close family member has a history of inherited bowel or digestive cancers, such as familial adenomatous polyposis, Lynch syndrome, or Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (confirm with trial site)
  • You have a hard-to-control long-term condition such as high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic viral hepatitis, or inflammatory bowel disease
  • You have had another cancer in the past 5 years, unless it was a type of skin cancer (basal cell or squamous cell) that was fully treated and cured
  • You have taken broad-spectrum antibiotics or probiotic supplements in the past month
  • You have regularly used immune-suppressing medications in the past 6 months
  • You have been taking medications long-term that may affect your body's metabolism, such as hormonal treatments
  • You are unable or unwilling to attend follow-up visits and related tests
  • You are unable to eat normally, or you need medications or enemas to have a bowel movement
  • You have a psychiatric condition or a serious heart or blood vessel disease
  • You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant within the next year
  • You are currently taking part in another clinical study that involves a treatment that could affect your care

As a Gastric Cancer Patient:

  • You are currently taking part in another clinical study that involves a treatment that could affect your care
  • You have had another cancer in the past 5 years, unless it was a type of skin cancer (basal cell or squamous cell) that was fully treated and cured
  • You have a hard-to-control long-term condition such as high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic viral hepatitis, or inflammatory bowel disease
  • You have other poorly controlled long-term health conditions that may affect your outlook (confirm with trial site)
  • You have a psychiatric condition or a serious heart or blood vessel disease
  • You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant within the next year
  • You have been taking long-term medications that may affect your body's metabolism, such as hormones, immune-suppressing drugs, or antibiotics
  • You have any serious or uncontrolled health condition that the study doctor believes could affect your ability to participate or affect the study results (confirm with trial site)
