Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with an early-stage (surface-level) cancer of the oesophagus and/or stomach, specifically a type called adenocarcinoma at stage T1, and who are scheduled for a procedure called ESD (a type of endoscopic surgery to remove the affected tissue) at the UMCG hospital
- People aged 18 years or older
- People who are able to read and sign a consent form agreeing to take part

- People who have a known allergy to the dye called indocyanine green, which is used in this trial
- People who have known allergies to iodine, shellfish, and/or clams
- People whose kidneys are not working well enough, based on a specific kidney function measurement being below a certain level (confirm with trial site)
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have an overactive thyroid gland (a condition where the thyroid produces too much hormone)
- People who have severe liver disease, including conditions such as fluid build-up in the abdomen (ascites) or scarring of the liver (cirrhosis)
